SHANON SEARLE– FUSION 16U PREMIER UNRUH/HUNT 23/24 ASSISTANT COACH

Shanon Searle played her college career at Western Kentucky University.  Before transferring to WKU in 2000 from Palomar Junior College (San Diego, CA), Searle was named the 1999 Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Year and earned the Pepsi Scholar Athlete of the Year for female athletes in the state of California.  As an infielder, the two year tri-captain started every game , and played a vital role in WKU’s inaugural season 2nd place finish behind nationally ranked Louisiana Lafayette.  Searle is in the record books for putouts in a single season.  After graduation, Searle returned to the Hill as the assistant coach where she worked primarily with infielders and hitters, while overseeing travel arrangements and academics.  She also played a key role in the recruiting process during her year coaching stint with former head coach Leslie Phelan and current University of Kentucky head coach, Rachel Lawson.   During this time, WKU boasted several All Conference and All Region players.  After moving to Louisville for school, Searle moved into the high school ranks and teamed up with Jennifer Hunt.
